The Challenge

As Millennium Insurance grew, traditional recognition methods like lunches and physical gift cards became challenging to manage and lacked the flexibility newer employees desired. HR Director Brittany Hoess noted that this was impacting employee engagement and morale.

Before using Guusto, our business was growing very rapidly, and we were struggling to keep up with proper recognition and rewards for our employees. And it was having an impact on employee engagement and morale. Traditional methods… were becoming time-consuming for us, and they lack the flexibility that our newer employees were looking for.

The Solution

After adopting Guusto, Brittany and her team could leverage these ACE principles with features like peer-to-peer Shoutouts and monthly budgets, making the recognition experience more meaningful and personalized for each employee.

Currently in the Guusto platform, we are using peer-to-peer Shoutouts, and we have assigned our people leaders a monthly budget to reward outstanding performance or demonstration of our core values by employees.

Millennium’s social committee has also integrated Guusto gift cards into company events and contests, promoting engagement across teams. This flexibility, along with the variety of reward options, has strengthened connections among employees and fostered a vibrant recognition culture.

The Results

Since launching Guusto, Millennium has seen a remarkable shift in employee morale, retention, and productivity. An impressive 88% of employees with gift budgets  have participated in the program.

Since adopting Guusto, we have seen significant improvements in employee engagement scores, retention, and just overall productivity. Our employees are definitely feeling more valued and motivated, which is leading to higher morale and better performance.

Brittany highlighted how employees now feel more connected, especially with remote colleagues or new hires they might not see in person right away.

The feedback around the launch of the platform was more around employees saying, 'Oh, it's great to be able to recognize that new hire, because I know I might not meet them for a few weeks,' or, 'Hey, I didn't know that Sheryl reached her 25-year anniversary. That's great to see.

Additionally, Millennium values Guusto for its ease of use. As Brittany noted, one of the platform's most appreciated features is the ability for employees to redeem gift cards instantly, such as at Starbucks. With a Starbucks conveniently located in the parking lot, team members can quickly redeem their rewards and grab a coffee to celebrate their achievements. This simplicity and immediacy resonate deeply with employees, enhancing the platform's overall appeal.

Looking Ahead

The success of Guusto’s platform at Millennium Insurance has transformed the recognition program into a key part of company culture. Brittany and her team are excited to explore even more features, such as giving employees the ability to send rewards to each other.

Our team has only unlocked some of the functionality that Guusto has to offer, and we're really excited to continue releasing small snaps to employees as our program evolves. Like maybe the option for employees to send rewards to each other? That’s something that they’ve really been asking for.

Millennium’s partnership with Guusto continues to drive employee engagement, with each new feature further aligning the program with company values and employee needs.
