Ornella Lynch, Sr. Manager of Total Rewards at Grand & Toy, along with HR Business Partner Candice MacPhee, faced an inconsistent and lackluster employee recognition experience across the organization. While some leaders embraced the recognition culture, others found it challenging to sustain. The previous platform did not resonate well with associates or align with the company’s strategic priorities, leading to low engagement.

Our organization has experienced inconsistency across recognition initiatives, with some leaders having it simply built into their DNA and other team members feeling left unseen at times… The platform capability allows us as business partners the visibility to report regularly and support recognition activities, helping build a strong, consistent culture.

The level of administrative support that Guusto provides has been incredible. Best practices, tips, and speed to service from the Guusto team alleviated all the pressure from our internal team.

The Results

Since rolling out Guusto, Grand & Toy have seen immediate improvements in engagement. Within the first 30 days, the platform generated over 100 Shoutouts Associates loved having the ability to accumulate and combine gifts, making it easier to get what they wanted, when they wanted it.

One of our associates loved the flexibility so much that they chose to bank their rewards for a large grocery gift card, showing just how the platform meets associates’ individual needs.

Not only has the program boosted peer-to-peer and manager recognition, but it has also given Grand & Toy leaders the ability to monitor recognition trends. This visibility has led to a significant increase in manager participation, with over 75% actively engaging in recognition activities.
